Congratulations to Liya Weldegebriel on the publication of her first paper, Detecting the short term impact of soil and water conservation practices using stage as a proxy for discharge - A case study from the Tana sub-basin, Ethiopia, which is now available in the journal Land Degradation and Development.
Liya developed a method to use changes in the water level in streams to work out whether significant changes were taking place in how much runoff was generated after terraces and checkdams were installed in several study watersheds. You can read all about it here.
